MIZAR
FUENTES-
ORTEGA

MONTRÉAL, CANADA

In 2013, Mizar quit his corporate engineering job to take a shot at a dream; to turn a passion for fitness into a full-time career. Ever since he was a kid, he knew deep down that this was the path he wanted to pursue. He became a gymnastic coach at 14 years old, trained in martial arts (Capoeira, JKD, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), rock climbing, and found CrossFit along his journey to become a better version of himself.

This is when he found James FitzGerald and OPEX. Mizar was an early adopter of OPEX principles and has done many iterations of the CCP course. During the past years, with the help of various mentors, he's been able to coach thousands of individuals, both in the gym and online, to become leaner, stronger, and most importantly feel amazing physically and mentally.

Mizar is the founder of MFO Training in Montreal and is currently an proo3 Remote Coach full-time. He truly believes fitness can change your life. And he wants to have an even greater impact by helping passionate coaches like you become better and, at the same time, teach you how to build a successful business that allows you to help thousands of people from every corner of the earth.

Q&A:

WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?

English, French, Spanish

WHY ARE YOU A FITNESS COACH?

I am a fitness coach because there is a lot of information out there, and there are a few coaches who can connect the principles to each person's individual level and needs. I want to be a difference in the coaching industry to help individuals become better versions of themselves.

WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE TRAINING SESSION?

I love long mixed modal Sustain (Aerobic) pieces. It's like meditation for me, moving consciously from one movement to the next, being aware of my breathing, and sustaining my pace.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NOURISHING MEAL?

I love salmon with good guacamole and a nice salad with lots of colorful vegetables! Mexican rice with that, and I am a happy man :)

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?

Cold water exposure and breathing exercises. It's a true active meditation.
